§ 1. Office of city auditor created.

  • There is hereby created the office of City Auditor which shall consist of the City Auditor, a Deputy City Auditor, and such assistants as the Council may provide. The City Auditor shall be elected as provided in Article VI of this amended Charter and shall be a Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor at the time of filing for the office of City Auditor and this certification shall be a necessary qualification for the office of City Auditor.

    NOTE: This section was amended to read as above by an amendment voted November 10, 2009, and approved by the Governor on January 5, 2010. There were 54,224 votes in favor of the amendment and 10,442 votes against the amendment. The title to this amendment read:

    Shall the existing charter of the City of Tulsa, as heretofore amended, be further amended to require that any person filing for an holding the office of City Auditor must be a Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor?
