§ 300. Definitions.

For the purposes of this Chapter, each word and phrase shall have the following meaning:

A.

Vehicle shall mean every motor vehicle, except motorcycles, carts and motor-driven cycles, designated for carrying ten (10) passengers or less, and used for the transportation of persons.

B.

Take-home vehicle shall mean any City-owned or -leased vehicle which an employee drives home or to any location not associated with their duties with the City, as provided in Section 303 hereof.

C.

Emergency shall mean any unforeseen occurrence of condition that results, or apparently will result, in an insufficiency of services or facilities substantial enough to endanger the public health, safety, or welfare as identified by local, state, or federal authorities.

D.

Weather Related Emergency shall mean a natural disaster occurrence or condition that results, or apparently will result, in an insufficiency of services or facilities substantial enough to endanger the public health, safety, or welfare as identified by local, state, or federal authorities.

E.

May is permissive and not mandatory.

F.

Shall is always mandatory and never permissive.
