§ 111. City Investigator.

With the approval of the Mayor, and subject to the appropriation of funds by the Council, the City Attorney shall have the authority to employ competent persons to investigate cases and other matters in his charge, and he shall have authority to require such persons to perform such services as he may require in connection with the investigation of matters affecting the City. All costs arising from such service, or by virtue of any investigation herein authorized, shall be paid out of the general fund.
