§ 301. Custody of prisoners.

Persons confined in the jail by sentence or commitment of the Municipal Court for the violation of the City's ordinances or regulations or in default of payment of any fine or penalty for such violation shall be under the care and control of the Chief of Police by direction of the Mayor, and the Chief of Police shall be held responsible for the safe keeping of all prisoners.
