§ 500. Parking in parking districts.

  • When any vehicle shall be parked in any space next to which there is located a parking meter or which is designated as a metered space within a parking district or is indicated as a metered space by signage, curb markings or other control system applicable to the space, the owner or driver of such vehicle shall, immediately upon entering such parking space, remit method of payment accepted by the appropriate parking meter, or make a digital payment with approved app utilizing the pay by tag option. The parking space may then be used by such vehicle only during the parking limit as provided for on the meter or the allotted time allocated to a vehicle using the pay by tag option. If the vehicle shall remain parked beyond the parking limit provided by such meter or the pay by tag system, such vehicle shall be considered as parked overtime and shall be a violation of this section. It shall be unlawful for any person to cause, allow, permit or suffer any vehicle registered in his name to be parked overtime or beyond the lawful period as above described.
