 Appendix 1989. AMENDED CHARTER
 Article II. THE COUNCIL

  § 3.1. Meetings.

  • The Council shall meet regularly at such times and places as the Council shall fix by ordinance; provided, that the Council shall hold not less than two (2) regular meetings each month at the City Hall. The Mayor, the Chairman of the Council, or one-third (⅓) of the members of the Council may call special meetings of the Council upon written notice electronically transmitted to each member of the Council or served personally on or left at the usual place of residence of each member of the Council, at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to such meeting, and upon such further notice as is required by the laws of Oklahoma. The notice shall state the date, time and place of the meeting and the subjects to be considered. No subjects other than those stated in the notice shall be considered at the special meeting.

    NOTE: This section was amended to read as above by an amendment voted November 14, 2017, and approved by the Governor on February 21, 2018. There were 8,829 votes in favor of the amendment and 1,638 votes against the amendment. The title to this amendment read:

    Shall the City Charter of the City of Tulsa, Article II, Section 3.1, "Meetings", be amended to allow the required notice of special meetings of the City Council to be delivered to councilors electronically?

    Prior to this amendment, this section read as follows:
