 Title 37. TULSA REVISED TRAFFIC CODE
 Chapter 14. SPECIAL EVENTS

  § 1402. Special event permit required.

  • A.

    It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the conduct of a special event on public and/or private property, unless exempted, without first obtaining a permit from the City issued by the special events coordinator as provided by this ordinance and paying the fee established in Title 49, Chapter 10 currently in effect or hereafter adopted. Special event permit fees shall be governed whether it is a major event or minor event.

    B.

    It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the conduct of a film production on public and/or private property without first obtaining a permit from the special events coordinator and paying the fee established in Title 49, Chapter 10 currently in effect or hereafter adopted. A letter of support is required from the Tulsa Office of Film, Music, Arts and Culture to accompany the permit. Film Permit fees shall be governed by whether it is a major event or minor event.

    C.

    It shall be unlawful for any person to engage in the conduct of an oversize/overweight load movement that traverses City of Tulsa Streets without first obtaining a permit from the special events coordinator and paying the fee established in Title 49, Chapter 10 currently in effect or hereafter adopted. An oversize/overweight load permit is required by the City of Tulsa if an Oklahoma Department of Public Safety (DPS) oversize/overweight load permit is required for any type of movement that traverses City of Tulsa streets. Oversize/overweight load permit fees shall be governed by Title 49, Chapter 10.

    D.

    The City is authorized to issue permits for special events occurring within the city limits of Tulsa pursuant to the procedures established by the City Charter and in this chapter. The City is authorized to determine the special event venue. The City shall set reasonable boundaries for the special event venue, balancing the special event requirement and public health, safety, and welfare. The City is authorized to coordinate the issuance of a special event permit with other public agencies through whose jurisdiction or property the event or portion thereof occurs.
