§ 1410. City action on special event permit application.

  • A.

    The City shall take final action upon a completed application for a special permit as soon as practicable.

    B.

    The City is not required to take final action upon any special event permit application prior to one-hundred-eighty (180) calendar days before the event.

    C.

    The City is not required to take final action on an incomplete or untimely special event permit application.

    D.

    The City is not required to take final action upon more than one (1) application for a special event permit per applicant during any two-week period.

    E.

    The City is not required to take final action upon two (2) or more special event permit applications submitted by the same applicant unless two (2) or more weeks shall have elapsed between respective dates of submission of each.

    F.

    Final action on a completed special event permit application shall consist of one (1) of the following:

    1.

    Issuance of a special event permit by the City Council in accordance with the terms of the application; or,

    2.

    Issuance of a special event permit in accordance with the terms of the application, as modified by mutual agreement between the City Council and the applicant; or,

    3.

    Denial of the special event permit application by the City Council.

    G.

    The Special Events Coordinator shall have the discretion and authority to issue permits for oversize/overweight movements, film productions, events solely on private property, or events which do not adversely affect traffic movement or require the use of an alternate route, and will notify the Mayor and City Council of such permit applications, except for oversize/overweight movements.
